Reunion Update from Mike Greene

2nd Vice President USS Hancock CV/CVA 19 Association

Thursday, September 12, 2024

Hello Shipmates, Mike Greene here with a shout out to all my friends in the great and famous Hancock Association, well famous to us anyway.  Hope everyone had a great summer and is looking forward to the fall.  We don't get much color change here in Texas most of the native trees here where we live are Oaks and they just turn brown and fall off in the Fall so we are always having envy of the people who get the great tree color changes.

I wanted to reach out and give a personal invitation to attend our next reunion in San Antonio a little less than a year from now.  Billie and I have been to the river walk on several occasions and they do a really good job of making the place people friendly with lots of things to do and see.  The river walk is underground much of the way and stays cool in the summer and is very romantic for couples at night cruising the river or people watching from the many bars and restaurants is fun too.

The Hancock Association Officers are happy to announce that once again the association will be offering financial help in transportation and lodging for any members who would like to attend the reunion but lack the funds to get there.  This scholarship offer is on a case-by-case bases and anyone interested in getting some help can contact me or any of the other officers to get more information.  Our last reunion was a lot of fun and I am sure this one will be just as much fun seeing old friends as ever and hope to see all of you that can make there in 25.

PS...The younger guys need to step up and help us keep this going for as long as we can by volunteering for Association Board Leadership, we need you.............

Sincerely,

Mike and Billie Greene
