2012 USS HANCOCK Association Reunion

The 2012 USS HANCOCK CV/CVA-19 ASSOCIATION REUNION will be held in Chicago, Il from May 2, 2012 through May 7, 2012.  Please look at the highlighted links to in the left column for more details about Reunion Registration, Hotel Reservations, tour descriptions, and the agenda.

Walking Directions to Airports Using Public Transportation.

Midway Airport using the Orange Line/State and Lake Street

  • Exit the main doors of the hotel and turn left on Wacker Drive.

  • Walk on block to Michigan Avenue.  Turn left on Michigan Avenue.  Walk two blocks south to Lake Street.

  • Turn right on Lake Street and walk two blocks to State.

  • Orange Line is an elevated train.  Walk up stairs that read "MIDWAY" in ORANGE.  Not all stairs will lead you to the proper train.

  • The fare is $2.25 for adults, $1 for children ages 7-11 and seniors over the age of 65; there is no charge for children under the age of 7.

  • Be cautioned that the ticket machines do not give change.  Using exact change would be best.

  • Orange Line runs in one direction only toward MIDWAY.  Travel time is 30 minutes to the airport station, the end of the Orange Line.

O'Hare Airport using the Blue Line/Clark and Lake Street

  • Exit the main doors of the hotel and turn left on Wacker drive.  Walk five (5) blocks west to Clark Street.

  • Turn left on Clark Street and walk one block south to Lake Street.  Make a right on Lake Street and the entrance to the Blue Line subway will be on the left; look for doors that read CTA.

  • The fare is $2.25 for adults, $1 for children ages 7-11 and seniors over the age of 65; there is no charge for children under the age of 7.

  • Be cautioned that the ticket machines do not give change back.  Using exact change would be the best.

  • Blue Line train runs in two directions.  You want to board the train that reads O'HARE.  The last stop will be at the airport with a travel time of 46 minutes.

 

Driving directions to our downtown Chicago, Illinois hotel:

From O'Hare International Airport:

Take Kennedy Expressway (I-90/94) East to Ohio St exit. Proceed on Ohio to State St and turn right. Turn left at Wacker Drive. Our downtown Chicago, Illinois hotel will be down approximately 2 blocks on the right.


Train: Train Pick-up below baggage claim area (follow signs to C.T.A.). Take "L-Train" to Clark/Lake stop (approx. 7 blocks from hotel). Walk East on Lake to Stetson St, turn left Stetson St and walk 1 block to the hotel. Note: This method is not recommended if guest has more than 1 bag, as there are numerous escalators and turn-styles. Guest can take a cab or walk from Clark/Lake stop.

From Midway Airport:
 

Take Cicero Ave North to Stevenson Expressway (I-55) North. Exit at Dan Ryan Expressway (I-90/94) West. Exit at Washington St and proceed East to Michigan Ave. Turn left. Proceed North to Wacker Drive. Turn right. Our downtown Chicago, Illinois hotel is one block on right

L Train: From the airport take the Orange Line to the State and Lake Street stop. Walk 1 block north to Wacker. Take a right on Wacker and the hotel is approximately 3 blocks.
